My Dell G5 came with Ubuntu 16, which is nice but I wanted the GNOME desktop environment, so I upgraded to 18.04.
The only problem I’ve had is that when I login from a fresh start, I always have to enter my password twice. Similar to this question, but I do have the xsession-errors so I feel like that could help:
openConnection: connect: No such file or directory cannot connect to brltty at :0 upstart: upstart-dbus-session-bridge main process (2134) terminated with status 1 upstart: gnome-session (Unity) pre-stop process (15727) killed by HUP signal upstart: gnome-session (Unity) main process (2415) killed by HUP signal upstart: unity-panel-service main process (2430) killed by HUP signal upstart: indicator-bluetooth main process (2485) killed by TERM signal upstart: unity-settings-daemon main process (2408) killed by HUP signal upstart: indicator-power main process (2486) killed by TERM signal upstart: bamfdaemon main process (2132) killed by TERM signal upstart: indicator-datetime main process (2489) killed by TERM signal upstart: hud main process (2406) killed by HUP signal upstart: indicator-sound main process (2492) killed by HUP signal upstart: indicator-printers main process (2493) killed by TERM signal upstart: indicator-session main process (2495) killed by TERM signal upstart: indicator-application main process (2507) killed by TERM signal upstart: indicator-application pre-stop process (15726) killed by HUP signal upstart: Disconnected from notified D-Bus bus upstart: unity7 main process (2517) terminated with status 1 upstart: gpg-agent post-stop process (15747) terminated with status 127
When I login using Wayland, I don’t have this issue, but some applications that I quite like no longer work (GParted, Mailspring…)
Would love any help because it’s such a small thing but it’s so annoying!
Cheers!
