SMACOF reverse conversion

I’m so sorry if that question is stupid, but I need some help.

My situation:

I have a vector of data {element: 3 values} (3D).

I use SMACOF algorithm to convert to a 2D vector.

  1. I have a vector of distances (d) and base initialized vector with random coordinates(range: [0, 1]) (x).

  2. SMACOF returns a 2D vector of points.

Then I have lines (3 points (x,y)) and I want to convert that in 3D.

So, my main question, is it the right way to have random coordinates for back conversion?

Thank you for your understanding.
