apache2 default-ssl.conf vs 000-default-ssl.conf

Not as issue, just wondering..

Why is default-ssl.conf not named 000-default-ssl.conf ?

Seems weird that any ssl enabled vhost starting with:

  • a*.conf
  • b*.conf
  • c*.conf
  • da*.conf
  • … and more..

would take priority over the ‘default ssl’ vhost ?

even Let’s Encrypt utility creates 000-default-le-ssl.conf

just curious and trying to find out if there is a reason behind ?
