Ubuntu 19.10 – How to sandbox Chromium installed via SNAP

In Ubuntu 19.04, I’ve installed firejail, and I’ve also installed Chromium from the apt repository.

When I’m browsing the web, I see no reason for my web browser to have access to every file on my file system, so I run Chromium like this:

firejail chromium-browser

Doing it this way, Chromium only has access to the Downloads folder.

In Ubuntu 19.10, Chromium is no longer being installed via the apt repository. Instead, it is installed from the snap repository.

Firejail cannot sandbox the Chromium browser if Chromium was installed via snap.

I was hoping that snap itself would allow me to install Chromium in a manner where I can control the degree of sandbox isolation. However, it appears that the developer of the snap package has total control of this, and I cannot override their decisions to increase the isolation-level.

How can I achieve the same level of sandboxing as before, when running Chromium via a snap installation?

Prime indicator on ubuntu 19.10

i’ve an optimus laptop with nvidia prime installed and Ubuntu 19.10. I remember in Ubuntu 18.04 a prime indicator for switching prime mode just clicking the icon on the panel, it’s possible to use anything like this on Ubuntu 19.10? Also there are a windows-like option to start an application with a specific gpu?

Kubuntu 19.10 ISO

I have downloaded the Kubuntu 19.10 ISO file, then I attatched it to my Kubuntu virtual machine on VirtualBox and when I try to run the ISO file it gives me this error message: The configuration constructor in main failed due to a COM error. Check the release log of the VM for further details. (VERR_MAIN_CONFIG_CONSTRUCTOR_COM_ERROR).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: ConsoleWrap Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed} why is VirtualBox giving me this error message and is there a way to fix this error? Please reply whenever you can, please and thank you.

Can I install zfs on my root partition in nightly ubuntu builds for 19.10?

I’m very excited for this new experimental feature in Ubuntu 19.10. I was wondering if anyone knew where/how I could try it out right now. I’ve seen some guides for older versions of Ubuntu, but I’m looking to use what the Ubuntu team has been working on recently.

I downloaded the official Ubuntu nightly build a few evenings ago and saw no ZFS choice in the GUI’s partition manager.

Thanks!
