Is it possible to attach oracle database file after clean install

I had an Oracle 10g instance on my Win2008R2 server. Unfortunately, the server crashed and we had to re-install the operating system on C: drive. The oracle files are on other drives except than C.

The other drives (except C) are restored from disk backups. I don’t have dump file, I only have oracle data files such as USERS01.DBF and the oracle control files.

Now I am trying to find a way to install oracle again on the server but I am just wondering about how I can attach the current .DBF files to the new oracle instance? Is this possible? If so, how can I attach the current .DBF files to Oracle?

Currently there is no "OracleService" on services.msc and no listener as well. But previos oracle was installed on F drive so I still have the oracle binaries and data files on F drive.

Really appreciate if you can provide any information on this.

Attach (Child)Rigidbody TO (Parent)Rigidbody let it collide with Tilemap

We want to attach a (Child)Rigidbody to another (Parent)Rigidbody so that the (Child)Rigidbody is also transformed on (Parent)Rigidbody transformation.

The other constrain is that the (Parent)Rigidbody contains a tilemap also with collisions.

So we want the (Child)Rigidbody to:

  • inherits the (Parent)Rigidbody transformation when it is ON the (Parent)Rigidbody
  • collide with the tilemap ON the (Parent)Rigidbody
  • be able to leave the (Parent)Rigidbody and move freely in the world space.

During our tests, no game or physic-engine is able to do this. Eg.

  • Box2d
    • is not able to transform a world
    • applying parent forces to the child gives inacurate results
  • Unity
    • “nearly” can do it with (Parent)Rigidbody->Static Tilemap but transforming the Static Tilemap gives inacurate results.
  • Godot
    • “nearly” can do it, the same way as unity, but also gives inacurate results, when moveing Static Tilemaps. Also some (already reported) physic bugs renders godot unsuited.

We already consider to build a custom physic engine, but this will be a huge task we like to avoid.

We are searching for a way to do this, if you know an physic engine that supports this please speak up :).

attach with gdb after dropping privileges

Under Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, I cannot seem to debug a once-privileged process for love or money as an unprivileged user.

The file is setgid (mode 2755). It forks, and the child:

  1. releases its capabilities
  2. calls setgid(getgid())

Yet, gdb cannot attach to it when running under the same uid and gid.

$ cat /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope 0 $ echo $ (id -nu) $ (id -ng) jklowden jklowden $ ps -p 18272 -o user,group,euser,egroup USER GROUP EUSER EGROUP jklowden jklowden jklowden jklowden $ gdb -q -p 18272 Attaching to process 18272 Could not attach to process. If your uid matches the uid of the target process, check the setting of /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope, or try again as the root user. For more details, see /etc/sysctl.d/10-ptrace.conf ptrace: Operation not permitted.

What am I missing?

I have also tried to attack this by raising my own capabilities, with some success, although I’m not sure it’s the “right” answer.

$   cat /etc/security/capability.conf CAP_SYS_PTRACE jklowden  $   sudo setcap CAP_SYS_PTRACE=pe  $  (which gdb)

That allows gdb to attach to the process. But it does so by increasing what gdb can do, not decreasing what the process requires.

In case it’s interesting, the file’s setgid id is not root, but an unprivileged group that gives it access to a group-writable directory. Users of the application similarly belong to the same group, but forked child processes don’t require access to that directory.

Attach PDF to flow from SharePoint list matching employee number

I’ve been tasked with creating a flow that will send an email to all our staff with custom attachments.

A typical attachment would be in this format: “John.Smith-123456789.PDF” (FirstName.LastName-EmployeeNumber)

As we have approximately 1500 staff there are cases where we have duplicate names so simply cannot extract the name from the file and match it to a username.

I had a theory that if we have a list of All names, email addresses and employee numbers we could then match the employee number in the filename against the one in the list and send an email to the email address associated with the employee number attaching the PDF file.

What is the best way of doing this as I dont yet have the PDF files.

This is how my current flow looks.

LaTeX and evince problem. Evince does not attach to edges of the screen

I just use ST3 for LaTeX. LaTeXTools requires one of this pdf-viewers: evince, okular, zathura. I like evince because it is very simple and fast pdf-viewer. But have an issue: when I compile my pdf file and then evince open it, it just does not attach to left or right edges of the screen. I still can attach it to top or bottom edges, but it is do not convenient to use.

Even I close the file and open singly from ST3, issue still is. If I open an another file which was not build with LaTeXTools, there is not the issue.

Attach flow dynamically to lists created by site design

I have a site design, that adds a SharePoint list with some columns. I need the ability to select an item from that list/library, and click on Flows, and choose my flow and run it.

The case I have is that the sites will be created by users, and the site design will be applied to them which creates those lists. Is there a way to attach the flow to those newly created lists so the Flow would appear in the list of Flows and bind it dynamically to it?

Attach multiple physical Interfaces to a KVM VM

I am trying to set up multiple VM’s on a Server with multiple network interfaces via KVM and network bridges. The idea is to have a Bind/ISC Server with an IP on Bridge#1 that assigns IP’s and hostnames to different VM’s and Interfaces on the same network.

My Setup is as follows:

          Internet Access           on eth0           +---------+      +--------------------->+eth0|eth2|                             +---------+        Server #1                             |eth1|eth3|                             +-------+-+                                     |                      +--------------+                      |        +----------+                      +------->+eth0||    |                      |        +----------+     Server #2 Bind /ISC VM attach- |        |    ||    | ed to eth2 on        |        +----------+ Server #1 serves IP's| and Domain Names to  | other devices on an  |        +----------+ internal network     +------->+eth0||    | (eg. via DHCP)       |        +----------+     Server #3                      |        |    ||    |                      |        +----------+                      v

I used network bridges to connect virtual machines on Server #1 to the network, so that each VM receives it’s own IP address. I have previously run a bridge on eth1 of server #1, to connect Vm’s to the network with outbound internet access and when doing so, DHCP will work and all VM’s as well as the bridge will receive IP adresses from an outside DHCP server on the network. When doing so with the bridge on eth3 though, this will not work. Connecting the bridge on eth3 to the same network as internet access will not assign an IP address, the bridge won’t even come online as an interface inside the VM.

I have used netplan to configure the interfaces as bridges:

network:     ethernets:         eth0:             dhcp4: true         eth1:             dhcp4: false         eth2:             dhcp4: true         eth3:             dhcp4: false     version: 2      bridges:              kvm-bridge:                         interfaces: [ eth1]                         dhcp4: yes                         parameters:                                 stp: false #stp (bool) determines wether the bridge should use spanning tree protocol                                 forward-delay: 0                 br-bind9:                         interfaces: [ eth3]                         dhcp4: yes                         parameters:                                 stp: false                                  forward-delay: 0

Inside my VM, when having both bridges (kvm-bridge + br-bind9) attached, only one interface will show up: (ifconfig output)

ens2: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST>  mtu 1500         inet xx.xx.xx.xx  netmask 255.255.255.0  broadcast xx.xx.xx.xx         inet6 fe80::5054:ff:fe94:5f65  prefixlen 64  scopeid 0x20<link>         ether 52:54:00:94:5f:65  txqueuelen 1000  (Ethernet)         RX packets 6187  bytes 9240019 (9.2 MB)         RX errors 0  dropped 1433  overruns 0  frame 0         TX packets 4482  bytes 377955 (377.9 KB)         TX errors 0  dropped 0 overruns 0  carrier 0  collisions 0  lo: flags=73<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING>  mtu 65536         inet 127.0.0.1  netmask 255.0.0.0         inet6 ::1  prefixlen 128  scopeid 0x10<host>         loop  txqueuelen 1000  (Local Loopback)         RX packets 122  bytes 10582 (10.5 KB)         RX errors 0  dropped 0  overruns 0  frame 0         TX packets 122  bytes 10582 (10.5 KB)         TX errors 0  dropped 0 overruns 0  carrier 0  collisions 0

And I’m asking myself why. Is there a better method to achieve what I want? It’s really hard for me to find understandable resscources or documentation for virtio, for what I’m tryin to achieve. Again, the idea is to have an internal network with each server running virtual machines off of every network interface, so that basicially every network service such as DHCP / DNS can be virtualized. Would Vlans solve my problem, instead of medling with physical connections?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Attach document from Sharepoint online to an email

What would be the best way for Sharepoint online users to attach documents from the Sharepoint site to an email? Preferably using the “attach file” option from Outlook/Owa. I know Microsoft recommends to offline-sync the files with Onedrive for business, but that has a 5000 item limit and you risk that the synchronization fails. I’d love to use a mapped network drive, but they lose connection on each restart and it’s not even enough to log in to your sharepoint site, you have to click “open in explorer” to make them work again. I’ve seen here some similar questions with efforts to refresh the connection in order to keep it alive, but it doesn’t seem to work.

Has anyone got a satisfactory solution to this seemingly obvious user request?
