Can’t install ubuntu 18.04 LTS BECAUSE THESE SERVICES RUNNING 100% OF MY CPU

okay at first i’ve installed and used ubuntu days ago but i had to uninstall it because of partition issue… i was just trying to switch from windows 10 to ubuntu so i uninstalled windows completely then i tried to install ubuntu 18.04 from live usb but after the boot my cpu has high usage by (systemd-journal … rsyslogd … kworker/1:2 -e and +e) ive been trying to disable or restart the services but it doesn’t work and thats why i cant install ubuntu cause it crashes during installing … also i’ve tried the (pci=nomsi) in grub but it gives me 2 errors …first pci=nomsi is unknown and the second you need to load the kernel first … please help me fix this. thanks

Is C the fastest language because most kernels are written in C viz. Unix, DOS and Macintosh?

Hypothetically if there were an OS named YAOS(yet another OS) written in ALWAC (Another language with another compiler), assuming ALWAC is assembly optimized of course. Would ALWAC be comparable to C in performance, given that C is the fastest language that there is.

To rephrase the question: Would it be a good idea to write a language specifically for a kernel plugin like Symbian OS, Purity OS or Nutanix OS to speed up the development without compromising C like performance? A language native to an OS/kernel module, if you will. I mean, C came after Unix, historically, which is what raised this doubt.

mount /tmp back to / because cyberpanel mess with my tmp now

I have two server one is with cyberpanel one is not so when i install cyberpanel I dont have that /tmp mount when i type df /tmp it should be mounted at /

Can’t connect to a specific Wi-Fi network because of “Reason 2”

This is a new network that I haven’t connected to before, it uses WPA2.

The laptop can connect to my phone’s hotspot and my phone can connect to the problematic Wi-Fi network. As I live with other people I’m not allowed to touch the router and its settings so all I can work with is my laptop.

The problem is I get deauthenticated right after I get authenticated. This is the output of dmesg:

[ 583.623274] wlp2s0: authenticate with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx [ 583.674097] wlp2s0: send auth to xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (try 1/3) [ 583.682346] wlp2s0: authenticated [ 583.682581] wlp2s0: associating with AP with corrupt beacon [ 583.688023] wlp2s0: associate with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (try 1/3) [ 583.696076] wlp2s0: RX AssocResp from xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (capab=0x431 status=0 aid=6) [ 583.698537] wlp2s0: associated [ 587.736455] wlp2s0: deauthenticated from xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (Reason: 2=PREV_AUTH_NOT_VALID)

I have checked that the password is correct multiple times and I have selected Personal WPA2 in the security settings of the network.

What can be the problem?

The item was deleted because it was excluded by a crawl rule

My search crawl is not working for my local site. On my Crawl Log I see a warning:

Item not crawled due to one of the following reasons: Preventive crawl rule; Specified content source hops/depth exceeded; URL has query string parameter; Required protocol handler not found; Preventive robots directive. ( This item was deleted because it was excluded by a crawl rule. )

Important information:

  • I just moved all my content databases to a newly installed Sharepoint on a new server
  • I am running Sharepoint Server 2019 Standard
  • When I change the address in the content source to full FQDN, the search works partially with many 401 warnings
  • The address in question is https
  • Same address with sps3 gets crawled successfully with no issues
  • There is no robots.txt file in the site

I tried and checked everything I could think of, including:

  • I checked that the default access account has access to the website
  • I browsed the website ( using a browser ) while being logging in using the default access account
  • I made sure there are no crawl rules
  • I created a new crawl rule to include the affected URL
  • I did “index reset”
  • I disabled loopbackCheck
  • I used Fiddler to monitor the traffic, the crawler is not even accessing the site

If you have any suggestions, please advice.

Cannot add user because /etc/group.5: lock file already used

I am trying to add a new user when first installing Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and I get this:

Enter new UNIX username: rob groupadd: /etc/group.5: lock file already used groupadd: cannot lock /etc/group; try again later. adduser: `/usr/sbin/groupadd -g 1000 rob' returned error code 10. Exiting.

It is very similar to this question, however I don’t think the problem is precisely the same as I get this right after download and launch. I have been doing everything as the root user and I know this is bad practice.

This item could not be crawled because the repository did not respond within the specified timeout period

In SharePoint 2019 farm when I run full crawl below error keeps appearing in crawl log, I did below actions but still same error.

Error: The start address xxxx cannot be crawled. Context: Application ‘Search_Service_Application’, Catalog ‘Portal_Content’ Details: This item could not be crawled because the repository did not respond within the specified timeout period. Try to crawl the repository at a later time, or increase the timeout value on the Proxy and Timeout page in search administration. You might also want to crawl this repository during off-peak usage times. (0x80040d7b)

in ULS logs: object not found for (valueName = ServiceUser ProductKeyName = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office Server.0\Search)

Troubleshoot steps that I did: Given search account Full Permissions and content access account full read permissions from user policy of web application. Add Host Entry for web application in Crawl servers. Disable the Loop back check. Login with content acc account to servers and Internet Options>Connections>LAN settings. Uncheck ‘Automatically detect settings’.

Increase the timeout value on the Proxy and Timeout page in search administration. to 120 Seconds

What actions can prevent you from taking another action because of the restrictions that are placed on the second action? [on hold]

Or in other words: What rules prevent you from doing something you would otherwise be able to do?

I am worried about this question being too broad, but I feel like there can’t be very many examples like the following:

  1. Under the rules on bonus action spells, it states:

A spell cast with a bonus action is especially swift. You must use a bonus action on your turn to cast the spell, provided that you haven’t already taken a bonus action this turn. You can’t cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action.

First, this means that if you cast a bonus action spell, the restrictions on them prevent you from casting non-cantrip spells. However if instead you cast a non-cantrip spell the restrictions on bonus action spells prevent you from casting any bonus action spells. You are normally allowed to cast a bonus action spell, but here, their own rules prevent that. That this is how bonus action spells work is shown here

  2. Under the net weapon, the “special” property states:

When you use an action, bonus action, or reaction to attack with a net, you can make only one attack regardless of the number of attacks you can normally make.

First, if you have Extra Attack, and your first attack is with a net, the restrictions on nets prevent you from making more attacks, as shown in this question. However, this question, along with the previous one, possibly show that if you instead make your first attack with, say, a dagger, the restrictions on nets prevent you from attacking with a net. You are normally allowed to attack with a net, but here, its own rules prevent that.

Are there other examples of times similar to these?
