Should casting Confusion centered on yourself from Wild Magic Surge be trivial to end because it’s a concentration spell?

The entry for a roll of 13 or 14 on the Wild Magic Surge table is:

You cast confusion centered on yourself. (PHB, emphasis mine)

Confusion is a 4th level concentration spell. The rules for concentration state that:

If a spell must be maintained with concentration, that fact appears in its Duration entry, and the spell specifies how long you can concentrate on it. You can end concentration at any time (no action required). (PHB)

The intent of the entry on the Wild Magic table seems to be for everyone nearby, including the caster, to be hit by confusion, essentially a less-bad version of casting Fireball centered on yourself. However, since the table doesn’t specify anything special about concentrating on the spell, the caster needs to maintain concentration on it, and consequentially the spell should end if they stop concentrating on it.

RAW, is there any reason someone who rolls this result on the Wild Magic Surge table couldn’t immediately drop concentration and end the spell?

How to measure on a grid the area of a sphere area spell or effect centered on a creature?

Per the Wild Magic sorcerer’s Wild Magic Surge table (PHB, p. 104)

07-08: You cast fireball as a 3rd-level spell centered on yourself.

There’s other questionable area spells in that list (grease is a 10 foot square, so your square and which three?), but I’ll focus on spheres like fireball (PHB p. 241):

(…) Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on the point must (…)

My problem is, the sources I found so far – including the other answers to similar questions here – talk about measuring spheres from grid square intersections, whereas this clearly talks about it being centered on the unlucky Wild Magic sorcerer. Plus, since it’s a wild magic effect, it doesn’t exactly have a caster that can pick a point of origin. Is there an accepted way to measure an effect like this?

Tiles not centered within web part in Sharepoint 2013

I am completely new to SharePoint and trying to design/create a page as requested by the company I work for. The issue I’m having is all the tiles I’ve created within a web part are aligned left. I did create a script editor and added a code that would automatically wrap the tiles so those scroll bars won’t appear; however the tiles are not lined up. Any way this can be achieved please? Thanks.enter image description here

How to practices user centered design with no / limited access to user?

We have an interesting project which is a prototype for a hypothetical domain specific userbase which does not currently exist.

I’d like to use good design practices and wish to adapt our existing user driven approaches to the absence of actual users.

A few things seems like actual users could be replaced with suitably researched / estimated persona’s but certain other techniques like validation of design decisions and gathering metrics seem near impossible.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this kind of situation?

How to make a polygon centered at {0,0} with scaled dimensions?

I am making a customized plot marker mk2 (a black star) with Polygon. Another marker mk1 (a red circle) I made with Circle is properly centered. However, I could not figure out how to make mk2 centered at {0,0} so I can use it later to mark properly some data points without shifting. Here is the code:

mk1 = {AbsoluteThickness[1.5], Red, Circle[{0, 0}, Scaled[0.02]]} //    Graphics l = 1/50; k = 1/150; mk2 = Polygon[    Scaled /@ {{l, 0}, {k, k}, {0, l}, {-k, k}, {-l,         0}, {-k, -k}, {0, -l}, {k, -k}}] // Graphics Show[mk2, mk1, Axes -> True]

enter image description here

The coordinates of mk2 need to be given in Scaled numbers. How can I make mk2 also centered at {0,0}?

Is Thunderwave centered on the caster?

This came up in game tonight. Thunderwave is a spell with Range: Self (15-foot cube). The description reads:

A wave of thunderous force sweeps out from you. Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you…

Players Handbook, 282-283

Does the area of effect center on the caster (extending 7.5 feet in each direction), or does it begin from the caster, and extend in the direction desired (for a full 15 feet)?
