Bluetooth headphones crashing driver

My bluetooth settings are working fine with any kind of phone. I’ve recently got a set of Ryhodi bluetooth headset and my driver goes haywire.

I’ve uninstalled all kind of bluetooth services and audio service (huge mistake, took me 1.5h to recover all the settings back into my linux) without success.

After my sound and bluetooth went back live I’ve decided to switch on this specific set of headphones (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PCRLTRK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and the problem showed up again.

In short what happens is that when I switch the Heaphones ON it tries to pair with my PC, my bluetooth keeps on losing it’s will to live and every so often (every 5-15 sec) and goes into “Please insert dongle to use Bluetooth”.

I’ve tried all of the google wisdom to manipulate pulsedaudio.serive, bluetooth.service, pavucontrol.

Any ideas where to go further? Is this cheaper-end bluetooth speakers not suitable for Linux control?

Thanks, Tom

NetworkManager crashing

When did the problem start:

I recently installed the package wicd, and after I did this, I started having problems with my WiFi connection. I never directly changed any configuration files or anything like that, all I did was start the wicd daemon and used wicd-curses and wicd-client, both front ends to operate wicd.

Description of the problem:

Here is the problem. Whenever I leave my computer unattended for a brief amount of time and come back, the WiFi completely stops working. I cannot reconnect, and the only thing that fixes this is rebooting the computer.

What I have tried

I have tried restarting the service NetworkManager, and restarting the daemon ‘networking.service’, neither of these actions work. I have also tried purging NetworkManager, auto-removing, and reinstalling it, as well as purging wicd, and all wicd front ends. Needless to say, none of these actions have worked.

Further description of the problem

The service ‘networking.service’ is always failed. Whenever I boot the system, it fails immediantly. This is the only service that is not working. Here is the output of the systemctl command.

$   systemctl status networking.service

● networking.service – Raise network interfaces Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/networking.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Sat 2019-09-21 00:32:16 CDT; 20min ago Docs: man:interfaces(5) Process: 761 ExecStart=/sbin/ifup -a –read-environment (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE) Main PID: 761 (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)

I don’t know what I should do to solve this problem, if anyone has any suggestions, please share. Thanks so much.

The Plasma 5 shell in Kubuntu, or “plasmashell”, keeps crashing repeatedly. I have a peice of information from the KDE crash handler that might help resolve this issue.

Ubuntu 18.04 Gnome shell crashing randomly

I am running a clean install of 18.04 on a Dell Inspiration desktop with a Nvidia Quadro FX1800 graphics card. Every so often – most days – my GNOME session just ends, logging me out. There is no obvious pattern to this in terms of actions or open programs. The last time I was just moving the mouse. The trace from syslog is long, but having looked at a few of them the following seem to be common features:

There are no obvious customisations to look at and system memory is fine. Where to start with a solution?

AppFabric crashing on SharePoint 2013

SharePoint 2013 running on Windows Server 2008 R2, updated with the latest CUs (March, April, June, see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/jj891062.aspx). All O.S. updates installed.

It’s a new server, I installed SharePoint today, applied the CUs and started creating the farm (single server, with the database on a separate machine).

The distributed cache service keeps crashing with these errors:

Looking around, I found some posts dealing with the same issue, which seems to be caused by missing permissions:

http://bernado-nguyen-hoan.com/2013/03/19/appfabric-distributed-cache-keeps-crashing-in-sharepoint-2013-fixed
http://sharepoint-blog.com/appfabric-event-id-1000-and-event-id-1026-with-sharepoint-2013

This seems indeed to be my case, as I’m using distinct service accounts with no admin privileges for the application pools.

However, as others have noted in comments to those posts, the WindowsFabricAllowedUsers group just isn’t there, so I don’t know what to do.

Any ideas?

Update 1

The problem is not related at all to the application pool service account. I destroyed the farm, uninstalled SharePoint from the server, re-installed it and re-created the farm, and upon accessing the Central Administration (without having configured anything yet), the distribute cache service still crashes with the same errors.

Update 2

The problem is not caused by any SharePoint CU; I tried installing only the March CU, and then I tried again using the plain RTM release of SharePoint 2013: same behaviour.

Also, this doesn’t help at all.

firefox and chrome keep crashing on lubuntu 19.04 and ubuntu 18.04 ff ver 68.0.2

firefox and chrome keep crashing on lubuntu 19.04 and ubuntu 18.04 ff ver 68.0.2 this is on a 4000 series ?? i7 with 8 gig ram 120 ssd, no video card i have another pc hooked on network that has had no issues in the last 6 days with chrome and ff ive changed Ethernet ports on router and back of i7 pc ive changed Ethernet cables that are 2 ft long ive disable hardware acceleration on both browsers i wasnt having an issue until about 3 weeks ago im fixing to try puppy linux on my usb drive for a couple of days

It keeps crashing…

So I’m becoming increasingly comfy with Scrapebox (thanks to this site and your youtube vids).  I’ve set myself up on a pretty robust vps.  I have a growing number of good proxies.  I’m moving along and finding all kinds of awesome uses for the software….but

I’ve run into a situation there it keeps crashing on me.

I have a list of about 1 million keywords that I wanted to scrape for URLs.  Clearly I can’t just let it run until it finishes or I’ll have a zillion gig url list.  At first, I was scraping manually and turning it off at about 4million urls, then I’d de-dupe and do other url cleaning.  All is well.  I wanted to automate the process though.  So I tried doing it in Automator and realized it wouldn’t work because the software won’t chunk it.  Rather, it won’t move to the next step until all 1 million keywords have been run through.  That’s cool…

I figured I’d use the option for it to auto-save about every 2 million urls…creating files of 2 million urls each.  Easy enough.

However, when I hit just over 4 million total (two lists of 2 million urls), Scrapebox starts going nutty on me, grinds to a halt, and eventually crashes.  I suspect it’s keeping all of the urls in some kind of memory and cannot make room for more.  I can’t find an option to adjust this though.  It’d be nice to sort of reset itself or something every time it saves a list of 2 million.

Any idea what’s happening and how to fix it?  Maybe there’s another way to harvest urls from such a large list of keywords?

I’m running about 800 threads and using the custom harvester to do it.  I’m scraping only from about 5 or 6 search engines.  Am I hitting my machine limitations maybe?  I’m paid up for this month but am going to be moving to a bigger, better dedicated server next month.

Thanks!!

Minecraft suddenly crashing when opening container

I have been playing Minecraft on my HP Pavillion for over 2 years and suddenly the other day it started crashing. When I went through the logs, I found an error that when I search it on google is said to be a ‘video driver’ issue. Has something changed recently in either the openGL or Radeon drivers?
