Crystal ball and scrying

The Scrying spell has as its material component

A focus worth at least 1,000 gp, such as a crystal ball, a silver mirror, or a font filled with holy water

The magic item crystal ball says

While touching it, you can cast the Scrying spell (save DC 17) with it.

If using the magic crystal ball to cast scrying, you would not need to use the crystal ball itself as the focus and material component for the spell it allows you to cast, per DMG p. 141:

Some magic items allow the user to cast a spell from the item. The spell is cast at the lowest possible spell level, doesn’t expend any of the user’s spell slots, and requires no components, unless the item’s description says otherwise.

But suppose you actually knew the spell and could cast it yourself. If you did not have a silver mirror or holy water font, could you use a non-magic crystal ball as a material component?

That is, is the spell specifically asking for the magic item crystal ball, or is a non-magic ball of crystal, provided it is worth 1000gp, sufficient?

For reference, on the PHB adventuring gear list, an arcane focus "crystal" is worth 10gp, while an orb (with the same weight of the magic item crystal ball) is worth 20gp.

Is it possible to craft a crystal similar to the Truedeath one, but for creatures with the Plant type?

Is it possible to craft a crystal similar to the Truedeath one, but for Plants?

Truedeath Crystal (Greater) and Demolition Crystal (Greater) are Weapond Augment Crystals (Magic Item Compendium, p.65-66) that let you deliver critical hits and sneak attacks respectively to Undeads and Constructs.

To craft a Truedeath Crystal the Consacrate (Player’s Handbook v.3.5, p. 212) spell is required and Disintegrate (Player’s Handbook v.3.5, p. 222) has to be used to create a Demolition Crystal.

First question:

1. Which spell could be selected as prerequisite to craft a sort of Vinestrike* Crystal?

*similar to the Vine Strike (Spell Compendium, p. 230) spell

The other thing is: Lesser crystals have “unique” abilities, while Least and Greater seem to be standardized.

Least: A weapon with this crystal attached deals an extra 1d6 points of damage to constructs.

Lesser: As the least crystal, and the weapon is treated as adamantine for the purpose of overcoming the damage reduction of constructs.

Greater: As the lesser crystal, and the weapon can deliver sneak attacks and critical hits against constructs as if they were living creatures.

Least: A weapon with this crystal attached deals an extra 1d6 points of damage to undead.

Lesser: As the least crystal, and the weapon also functions as a ghost touch weapon (DMG 224).

Greater: As the lesser crystal, and the weapon can deliver sneak attacks and critical hits against undead as if they were living creatures.

2. What kind of ability a lesser crystal could grant?

What is the rarity of this homebrew magic item, Wytchfire Crystal Orb?

The magic item functions as a Driftglobe with the following additional properties:

  1. Requires attunement by a spell caster
  2. As a bonus action on your turn, you can speak another command word and move the orb up to 20 feet in any direction.
  3. Provides protection from scrying (like an Amulet of Proof against Detection and Location) when the orb is within 5’ of user
  4. Daylight is replaced with Sickening Radiance (1/day)
  5. The user gains the ability to use the Nothic “Weird Insight” on any creature with 30’ of the orb.

Can creatures outside of Crystal Spheres dream?

Assumptions: all material from spelljammer, 3.0, 3.5, web/dragon and Pathfinder are available. Everything in this campaign setting is being converted to Pathfinder. All available separate campaign settings are their own crystal spheres. I try to remove as much DM fiat as I can, but some is required to do conversions and a lot is required to implement spelljammer, which this question is based around.

This section will be updated based on clarification request. Please comment to suggest clarifications.

Problem: Inter-planar travel is not possible outside of a crystal sphere. The dimension of dreams / region of dreams exist as kinda sort of part of the ethereal plane. If you can dream, you go to those places as a mental projection and play around in your dream demiplane. Some crystal spheres have more danger here than others depending on local creatures.

If you’re outside of the spheres however Inter-planar spells and abilities don’t work. Can you still enter the Dream world via sleeping? If the answer is yes, can you do so with spells/powers/abilities? Are there Night Hags prowling the spaces between spheres through the dreams of creatures traveling in the phlogiston?

Did the spellplague change the cosmology of other crystal spheres too, or just realmspace?

The spellplague changed the cosmology of Forgotten Realms into the world axis cosmology. Great wheel no more, world tree no more (it seems I missed/skipped this one).

But did the spellplague affected the entire prime material, or just the realmspace crystal sphere. Each campaign setting is inside its own crystal sphere, and the spheres float amidst the phlogiston of the prime material plane. Did the spellplague also affected the cosmology of other crystal spheres / game settings? Like Krynn, Oerth, Mystara, etc?

Is this Eldritch Crystal Familiar overpowered?

My friend is DMing a campaign, and I’ve been helping him balance out the homebrew content the players request. The most recent request is a custom familiar that the PC is getting through the Magic Initiate Feat to steal the Find Familiar spell.

To support the custom familiar, the player cited Volo’s Guide to Monsters with:

Variant: Familiars Any spellcaster that can cast the find familiar spell (such as an apprentice, warlock, or wizard) is likely to have a familiar. The familiar can be one of the creatures described in the spell (see the Player’s Handbook) or some other Tiny monster, such as a cranium rat, a crawling claw, a gazer, an imp, a pseudodragon, or a quasit.

Some of the balance difficulty comes from the fact that they want a monster not in the Monster Manual. The player is hell-bent on having a crystal as their familiar, and created this:

Eldritch Crystal
Tiny ooze, chaotic evil
Armor Class 12
Hit Points 3 (1d4)
Speed 10 ft., burrow 5 ft.
STR 1 (−5)
DEX 8 (-1)
CON 12 (+1)
INT 10 (+0)
WIS 3 (-4)
CHA 1 (-5)
Skills: Arcana +2
Senses blindsight 10 ft, passive Perception 6
Challenge 0 (10 XP)
Otherwordly Resilience: The Eldritch Crystal takes no damage from damaging spells, and no additional damage from magical weapons.
Innate Spellcasting: The Eldritch Crystal can cast either Blur or Meld into Stone once per short or long rest.

Is it a balanced familiar? If not, what would make it balanced?

Notes on specific features:

  • The Ooze choice (instead of, say, Aberration, Construct, or Fiend) was because of some 3.5e crystalline oozes.
  • The magic resistance was specifically asked for because the player is a Forge Cleric who’s getting this familiar through a feat. The class gets fire immunity, and the player wanted a familiar who wouldn’t be hurt by all the splash and flames.

reporte original y duplicado Crystal report c#

.SetDataSouce() do Crystal Report dando erro NullReferenceException

Eu estou fazendo um relatório simples para teste usando Crystal Report com c#.

O relatório é carregado por um arquivo .ttx;

No controller eu coloquei:

 public ActionResult ObterRelatorio()     {         try         {             byte[] relatorio = new byte[] { };              Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", string.Format("attachment; filename={0}.pdf","Relatorio"));              List<QuestaoDTO> lista = QuestaoDTO.ObterRelatorio();             RelatorioDeQuestao relatorioDeQuestao = new RelatorioDeQuestao();              relatorio = relatorioDeQuestao.ObterRelatorio(lista);              return File(relatorio, "application/pdf");         }         catch (Exception excecao)         {             TempData["MENSAGEM_ERRO"] = excecao.Message;              return View();         }     }

Nele eu passo uma lista de objetos.

Quando eu vou carregar o relatório dá um erro NullReferenceException no .SetDataSource(), mesmo com a lista sendo trazida da forma correta.

public byte[] ObterRelatorio(IList<QuestaoDTO> listaDoRelatorioDTO)     {         try         {             Stream fluxoDeDadosDoRelatorio;             int tamanhoDoFluxoDeDados;             byte[] vetor;              Relatorio.SetDataSource(listaDoRelatorioDTO);             fluxoDeDadosDoRelatorio = Relatorio.ExportToStream(ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat);             tamanhoDoFluxoDeDados = Convert.ToInt32(fluxoDeDadosDoRelatorio.Length);             vetor = new byte[tamanhoDoFluxoDeDados];             fluxoDeDadosDoRelatorio.Read(vetor, 0, tamanhoDoFluxoDeDados);              return vetor;         }         catch (NullReferenceException ex)         {             throw new NullReferenceException(ex.Message);         }         catch (Exception excecao)         {             throw new Exception(excecao.Message);         }     }

O que pode ser?
