Show full post instead of excerpt

I am using a plugin which shows posts from specific category in a widget.

It has an option to show excerpt and the below code is used for that:

<?php echo $  post['excerpt'] ?>

But I want to show full posts instead of excerpt.

I tried the_post, the_content instead of excerpt in the above code but none working.

Can you please let me know what I am doing wrong?

Add link to excerpt if is on search and is custom post type

I want to display the excerpt and add a link to the bottom if the searched result if from my custom post type. What filter should I use?

if ( is_search() && get_post_type() == 'books' ) {          function exceprt_link( $  search_excerpt ) {         $  added_link = "<br><a href='https://google.com'>Go to google</a>";                  $  new_excerpt = $  search_excerpt . $  added_link;                  return $  new_excerpt;              }     add_filter( 'the_excerpt', 'exceprt_link' );      }

Read More excerpt link on a post is not linking to the post itself

My Read More link on several pages (showing an excerpt of those posts) is not linking to the posts themselves when you click on Read More. It looks like it is a link and should do so, but it just update the same page and keeps you on that same page…

I don’t know how to code so very very basic layman’s terms is greatly appreciated. I am using Astra Theme if that makes a difference at all.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Search Highlight comes with error on excerpt in search result

I’m not sure what’s going wrong. I’m using a “search highlight” on my wordpress website. I recently noticed 1 issue when doing a search on my site. How to say? Hmm…For example, either post excerpt or content contains active url(clickable), and the keyword is also in the url as well. The search result will become like as displayed in the image as per attached. The highlighted one suppose to be a proper url(www.properurl.com). But, it turned out this result. enter image description here

Below the PHP code of search highlight placed in the functions.php

function search_excerpt_highlight() {     $  excerpt = get_the_excerpt();     $  keys = implode('|', explode(' ', get_search_query()));     $  excerpt = preg_replace('/(' . $  keys .')/iu', '<span class="search-highlight"><u><b></b></u></span>', $  excerpt)."";      echo '<p class="excerpt">' . $  excerpt . '</p>'; }

I need to know if there is any code i can put in functions.php to make it work correctly?

Need help in this. Thank you!

Excerpt length decision

What should I take into account when limiting the text visible on a listing? I’m using a list layout with images on the left side, a title, a meta line and the excerpt, And I’ve wondering if there are any best practices like:

  • limiting the excerpt to full sentences only without breaking the sentences
  • limiting the text to fill n lines
  • limiting to words and add three dots and read more link afterwards
  • limiting the words and using justified text alignment …

What do you think?

Excerpt To Full Content Homepage

I wanted to show a full blog content, instead of an excerpt for the homepage.
I tried replacing the_excerpt to the_content, but it is not working.
This is the code:
<div class="entry-summary">
<?php the_content(); ?>
<span class="read-more"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php esc_html_e('Continue Reading &raquo;', 'revenue'); ?></a></span>
</div><!– .entry-summary –>

Or should I replace the entry-summary class and how do I do it?
