Moving Data from .DLL to an .Exe in C#

I’m rewriting a C# DLL to send a file directly to a c# Executable residing on the same machine. Currently this DLL basically saves the File to a Location then the Executable Application picks that file up using a File.ReadAllText() command.

What would be the best way to achieve functionality? Currently I have been researching AnonymousPipes in C# and have been able to easily transfer text files over the pipe to the executable. What if I want to transfer an image file for example?

So far I have attempting using C# AnonymousPipes.

                using (PipeStream pipeClient =                     new AnonymousPipeClientStream(PipeDirection.In, args[0]))                 {                     pipeClient.ReadMode = PipeTransmissionMode.Message;                     using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(pipeClient))                     {                         string myData = sr.ReadToEnd();                     }                 }             }

I have a program (.exe) made in Visual Studio 2019, and want to run it on a computer that doesnt have Visual Studio

I keep getting the error that uctrbased.dll cannot be fournd and VDRUNTIME140.dll cannot be found. Has anyone else experienced this/found a solution that does not involve downloading something, but rather changing where or how I compile my code or something in the code?

Black screen, can’t boot into safe mode, .exe files corrupted

Windows 7 home premium OA 64 bit. Can’t post a FRST log as it wouldn’t install, as every exe file gets corrupted instantly and shuts down. Some days ago I started up my wallpaper changer and an alert that the .exe file was corrupt came up. Thinking the old program needed a reinstall I instead dl’d a different changer, but that alert showed again; I knew something was wrong and immediately disconnected my external drive where all my music etc is.

Windows10: Cannot create a registry key with extension “.exe”

I’m trying to apply the steps given in this anser: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53503593/how-to-reduce-visual-studio-build-process-priority-to-prevent-unresponsive-system.

For this, i want to create a registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\cl.exe plus some sub key and values. But registry editor won’t let me create a key name that contains “.exe” or rename it to such a name.

I can create or rename to cl.exa or cl.exer – just cl.exe will not be accepted! Neither is some-random-nonsense.exe. Which shows that it is not linked to any existing processes or file name.

Why is this and how can i circumvent it?

I checked i am the owner of the registry key and i started regedit as Administrator and have local admin privileges. Permissions say i have “Full control” on the item.

running an .exe file in a remote Windows 7

I have a .bat file in a Windows 7 with the following content:

runas /user:me "C:\Program Files\App\App_v1.exe" pause @echo on

this file is named test.bat. If I double click on it, it asks me for the password of the user “me”, so I enter it and it runs the App_v1.exe

Now, if I try to run it using Winrm from a remote PC, by doing:

winrs -r:172.5.1.50 -u:me -p:me2 C:\Users\me\Desktop\test.bat

I don’t understand why. I’ve tried to run different .exe files and none works. I wonder if I have to enable something in the Windows 7 to be able to do it?
