running an .exe file in a remote Windows 7

I have a .bat file in a Windows 7 with the following content:

runas /user:me "C:\Program Files\App\App_v1.exe" pause @echo on

this file is named test.bat. If I double click on it, it asks me for the password of the user “me”, so I enter it and it runs the App_v1.exe

Now, if I try to run it using Winrm from a remote PC, by doing:

winrs -r: -u:me -p:me2 C:\Users\me\Desktop\test.bat

I don’t understand why. I’ve tried to run different .exe files and none works. I wonder if I have to enable something in the Windows 7 to be able to do it?

Send .exe (etc.) file via Gmail *without* needing special actions by the recipient

I read through this: How can I send a Windows executable via Gmail? (and similar questions here and on SO), but all of the answers I came across rely on the email recipient doing something special such as

  • changing filename extensions, or
  • accessing cloud storage services.

First, linking to another cloud service is not sending via Gmail. There are reasons you may not want to use an outside service.

Second…What about sending e-mails to people who are not tech-savvy?

There are many kinds of files that Google does not want attached directly (described here, but you should still be able to send them in some way that

  • leaves them accessible to casual computer users (who may have file extensions hidden, for example), and
  • does not require the use of other cloud services.

“\vcredist_x64.exe” dialog when installing .exe with Wine

I have followed these instructions for installing Wine.

Now I’m trying to install a Windows program with Wine. As soon as I run the install command from my ~/Downloads directory

wine HoldemManager2Setup_8544.exe

this dialog pops up.

Any idea how to successfully install the .exe?

I’m trying to install the free trial version of Holdem Manager 2.
