SharePoint 2016 Windows explorer prompt issue

I migrated a site from SharePoint 2013 server to already existing SP2016 server. Here are the steps I took to migrate: 1. Backed up and restored the DB to DEV SP2016 server 2. Created a new web app in DEV server and mount the restored DB to this web app 3. Copied just the Site Collection I needed to a new DB (let’s call it as TV_cdb) 4. Backed up and restored the TV_cdb to the Prod SP2016 server 4. Ran Test-SPContentDatabase command and mount it to the existing Web app The existing web app url is http://portal.company.biz. And the new site collection url is http://portal.company.biz/sites/TV. The site I moved is a separate division in our business so that like to keep the same url, which is http://tv. So network engineer on their end did a url redirect. When they type http://tv it redirects to http://portal.company.biz/sites/TV. When they open windows explorer to add multiple docs, they are being prompted and finally locks them out. But I didn’t get this issue. Please anyone tell me what am I missing here. Thank You, Kalai

what if user creates a file / folder in Sharepoint Library Root via Windows File Explorer?

Background information: I’m new to Office 365 / Sharepoint online, trying to roll out the usage for our comapany. I like to move most important stuff from file server network share to Sharepoint Online. I already managed to create Team- / Communication-Sites so I can build a root structure for the files, and I found out how to sync them to the local machines. By activating sync for one of the sites Windows creates a new Library with an Enterprise Building as a logo, serving as root directory for the document folders of the synced sites.

And here comes my question: What if users (used to file server network share!) create a new file or folder in that Library root via Windows File Explorer? It will not sync back to Shatepoint because there is no site defined (right?). But Windows allowed me to do so: Any suggestions on how to handle this / how to prevent users from creating non-synced files inside their local Sharepoint Library?

Quick Launch Vertical Navigation Not Displaying In Internet Explorer

spent 2 days on this and can’t work out what’s happening. I’m using Sharepoint 2013. I added a vertical navigation to a page layout using the snippet – as I have working fine in other sites. For some reason the vertical navigation snippet displays no problem in Chrome but in IE it flashes on the screen for a split second and then disappears. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Es File Explorer Pro Troubles accessing a smb share on ubuntu

With a Windows machine I can connect with ip user and password to some Linux shares. With es file Explorer Pro I get strange “server not found” messages. This is what I do: open es file Explorer Pro. Search the lan.(the machine is listed) Access the machine (I notice it’s getting all the shares listed) entering a folder gives a permission error. So I add the folder to es file Explorer server bookmarks and try to Access it again, but I get a “server not found error”. Then I edit the bookmark: (and notice it’s logging as anonymous user) so I set domain with the machine name, server adding smb://ip/share/ to the address , user and password. And still I get “server not found”. All the other machines some linux and some Windows are accessing Just fine. Except the android devices with es file Explorer Pro. What am I missing?

How to implement HTML with SVG to PDF on click of a download button at client side in IE(Internet Explorer)

Scenario: I’m trying to download a portion of a page in PDF format upon clicking download button.

I’m using HTML2 framework for conversion. since our page has html and SVG elements, to support in IE(Internet Explorer) we are converting SVG to PNG by using canvg and save-as-png frameworks.

We are able to generate the PDF but the performance is very low, It takes around 45 – 50secs on IE.

Suggest if any other approach is feasible for this scenario. And to improve the performance as well.

We are using Angular7. The current approach : Take a snapshot of the page and then convert it into a PDF.

Requirement : The downloaded PDF should have selectable text and images. Clarity of the PDF should be good.

Even if there is any solution in Java please do comment.

Other computers/customers of my Internet Service Provider appears under my “Network” section in Windows Explorer

other computers of my ISP appears here

viewing the network page

I could see many computers under “Network” section on the left sidebar of Windows Explorer, but I am the only one who uses computer on my home.

So I suppose all those computers are also using the same Internet Service Provider as me, and we’re both inside the same “local” network or so.

The network setup on my home is simple, just my computer connected to a Wifi Router, then to a fibre optic router/modem.

I don’t know if this is a security issue, but my feeling is that this is not a normal thing to happen.
So, is this a serious issue?
