Who to connect in filezilla with provided ftp credentials ?
Last week, the most recent update of WordPress 5.3 came out and I updated it. As many other people, my website had a lot of problems after the update, due to the fact that my plugins such as openwp didnt work properly with it.
I was able to fix after a while, to be able to access my WordPress Dashboard again.
But I needed to use Filezilla, because I wanted to change my URL. I made an update with updraftplus right before I installed the newest WordPress version. I saved it on my computer and downloaded Filezilla client.
I extracted the file and uploaded them on the server.
Everything went through smoohtly, but as soon as I finished, I wasnt able to open my website anymore. Ever since then, I have not been able to reach my WordPress backend and my actual Website doesnt show up on my URL.
I know that my data is not gone, because I can see it on the server, but I am wondering if I overwrote files, or did something wrong. I dont really want to try anything else out anymore, because I am scared of making it worse. Also I cannot find any information on that online.
Furthermore my Wpcontent index says (Silent is golden) and I was like that after I downloaded the files onto my computer.
I really dont know what to do now.
I would really appreciate any advice.
When using the
FileZilla client as an application directory (link), I can right-click an html file on a remote server –>
View/Edit and it will opened in my predefined editor (e.g. vscode).
BUT if I use the FileZilla flatpak version, then I get the following error:
The file ‘index.html’ cannot be opened: The associated program (/usr/bin/code) could not be found. Please check your filetype associations.
I can run
/usr/bin/code from the command line, but it doesn’t work with FileZilla.
I installed LLVM and its components on Ubuntu 18.04. After installation, I wanted to see the installation files to verify them.
The files are located in separate folders in /usr/bin and identical folders in /usr/lib/llvm-8/bin, but when I click on any of the folders, Filezilla responds:
Error: Directory /usr/lib/llvm-8/bin/clang: no such file or directory Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing
Whether I navigate to subfolders in /usr/bin or /usr/lib/llvm-8/bin I get the same error message.
I kept the compete installation dialog from Putty for each of the components when I installed it and there were no error messages.
What does this mean?
When I try to connect to a FTP server with Filezilla, it asks for a password fo unlock a private key, which I never configured. The site is not configured to use keys.
If I enter my key password it works, but I’m worried, is this secure? Why is it asking my private key if I never configured it?
Other sites don’t ask for this key.
sudo apt-get install filezilla on Lubuntu but it comes back saying it can’t locate the package. Specifically
E: Unable to locate package filezilla3
I’ve tried updating, clearing, and updating again, but it can’t find it. Haven’t been able to find anyone else with this problem. FileZilla says to try using the package manager to get Filezilla. I tried their binary, but it asks for me to choose something to run it. I do get a few lines during an apt-get update that say it can’t initiate connection.
Oh and I tried ./filezilla with the binary, it said file not found.
I am using version 19.04 of Lubuntu.

Help greatly appreciated.
When I am connection putty to AWS server.
For some reason, FileZilla is uploading new files as the user I login as, as opposed to using
www-data:www-data as it did in the past. This is causing issues because at times, it isn’t uploading anything at all.
How do I restore normal behaviour?
I am trying to set Notepad++ as the default editor using the unofficial Filezilla wine/snap on Ubuntu. Any suggestions?
