Why apt asking to uninstall GIMP when installing ardour?

When running Ubuntu 19.04, I’m trying to install ardour, but apt is requesting to uninstall GIMP:

All my Tool Options in GIMP are lost or unable to be moved

I have constantly had this problem with GIMP detaching my Tool Options. I always look for a solution on the internet, and usually I find one. This time, I couldn’t. My screen looks like this: https://gyazo.com/f5cbec44af98bfc3015901552a7ad921 I want my Tool Options and Paintbrush tab back and attached to the LEFT side of my window. Things I have already tried: – Going under the “Windows” tab and adding them manually. They won’t “click and drag” to the left. In fact, I can’t even find my Paintbrush tab. – Going under the “Windows” tab and clicking “Single-Window Mode.” – Clicking and dragging doesn’t work regardless if the tab is attached or detached. – Uninstalling GIMP completely and reinstalling it.

If you can figure out the problem, thank you!

How to install the Darktable plugin for GIMP 2.10

I’ve just installed gimp 2.10 and darktable 2.6 from snap.

I am trying to open a Sony arw file.

I have darktable 2.6, I even checked its version from the command line. I have it installed for sure. However, GIMP continues to show me the message:

There is no RAW loader installed to open 'Raw Sony' files. GIMP currently supports these RAW loaders: - darktable (http://www.darktable.org/), at least 1.7 - RawTherapee (http://rawtherapee.com/), at least 5.2

I’ve tried installing RawTherappee from snap but I had no luck with it, too.

I am going to the conclusion that Gimp does not actually support either Darktable or RawTherapee.

Is there anything I am missing. Is there a way at all to open raw images in Gimp?

Any Photoshop advantage over GIMP?

The web video script that I’m modifying adds a watermark to uploaded videos. I’m trying to find a solution where the watermark image .png doesn’t look blurry in the ‘full screen’ mode.

The watermark.png is just text. Would using photoshop have an advantage of as to the quality output of a .png image opver GIMP?

And any ideas or solutions to keep the image sharp not blurry (upon resizing) is welcomed
