Can anyone Raise a Shield?

I have not found any Shield proficiency in the game. Can Wizards carry around a Steel Shield, and get +2 AC out of it?

What is the point of the Shield cantrip then? Twice the AC, same action. You can cast with a shield in your hand.
Sure, you cannot use Shield Block, but the cantrip allows it only once per combat anyway, after which you lose the AC too.

How often can a relic’s Raise Ramparts gift be used?

Relics often allow the wearer to cast a spell, but do not specify how often. For example, the Raise Ramparts major gift of the Earth gifts allows the wearer to cast Wall of Stone. It does not specify a frequency, but if it has no limit it seems incredibly overpowered for a gift that can be handed out as early as 9th level. How often should this gift be able to be used? (I do not have the Gamemastery Guide, so maybe there’s just something that is missing or unclear on Archive of Nethys, but I cannot find any mention of a frequency limitation).

What Class or Class combination will raise the largest controlled undead (skeletal) army in 48 hours?

I am planning on making a Necromancer type with the largest undead army available in 5e D&D. He has 48 hours to build it. I have an existing strategy but would like to hear your ideas.

Rules:

  • Hardcover books only, no 3rd party or UA.

  • You cannot polymorph into a Beholder… (It breaks the story) You have to be a standard race caster.

  • No outside help. You are solo.

  • No prep beyond the 48 hours you have to create the army.

  • Assume you are at a graveyard with access to enough bodies.

  • Lv 20 character, no epic boons unless you have a way to get them through a feat.

  • Prefer no magic items, however if you have one that really makes a huge difference let us know.

  • We are looking to specifically raise Skeletons. No generals required unless it increases the overall army size.

  • All spell slots are available to go towards the army.

  • Buffing the army is not necessary, but if you have a way to do it without diminishing its size, I’d love to hear it.

How can I raise concerns with a new DM about XP splitting?

My wife is new to DMing and D&D as a whole.

We had our first game yesterday and one of my friends raised a concern about how she was awarding XP as she was giving the XP to the person that got the killing blow. He felt, and I agree, that this was unfair to the people playing a support role i.e. our Bard and Druid.

Any suggestions on how I should bring this up without it sounding like a criticism or that I’m trying to take over?

Paying for my character’s raise dead in D&D Adventurers League

In Adventurers League, Level 1-4 characters can be typically returned from the dead by a faction boon.

At Level 5 and up, they’re required to pay for their own raise dead-type spell.

If I have a character who is (for example) Level 7, with 700 GP, and this character dies, what options do I have for returning this character to play after the session in which they died?

I’m asking for both DM and non-DM options (DMs get DM Awards from running adventures, so they’ve got different options potentially available).

Can Raise Dead revive a character with zero maximum Hit Points?

So, a character died from Draining Kiss of a succubus and his Max HP is 0. Can he be restored by Raise Dead, or does he need a higher level spell? Or a Greater Restoration cast on his lifeless body before Raise dead? I’m probably interested in RAW interpretation, since the character is in Adventurerer’s league.
