Redmi Note 7 factory reset via PC

So I was just trying to flash Lineage OS on my new redmi noet 7, since MIUI kinda sucks, and it didnt really seem to work. So after a few tries and restarts, my phone started requesting the Password for an Email address I entered into my lock screen when I first got the phone, in case Id ever loose it and someone would find the person could message me. But as it turns out, the m in my email addresses .com is missing and the phone keeps asking for the emails password to start Android instead of the usual PIN code. I figured I should just try wiping it completely, but after a lot of wasted time and energy, I still havent found a method to factory reset it. Please help, I know this is a very specific issue, but maybe there is someone here who could just help me out. Thanks in advance

What kind of encryption is required for LineageOS on Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 (whyred) to boot?

Having my Redmi Note 5 stuck at the LineageOS logo, I tried different ROMs like Resurrection Remix OS. They work well. After some reserach, I found a hint to some kind of encryption in the LineageOS release thread on xda-developers. So I re-flashed the stock MIUI ROM (without firmware cause of Xiaomi’s devious anti roll-back mechanism) and LineageOS could be installed without problems.

I want to understand this topic:

  • What are those keys?
  • Why LineageOS needs them?
  • Has this anything to do with device encryption?
  • Is this a Xiaomi specific topic or does it apply to other manufactures as well?

Currently, I know very little about those encryption keys:

  • It seems that they’re generated by the stock MIUI on first boot
  • They got deleted by formatting in TWRP, not on simply wiping
  • We don’t get any usefull error message, only a endless booting LineageOS animation
  • Encryption can be bypassed using a zip from here. But without OTA updates and the zip for bypassing must be flashed on each LineageOS update
  • Other ROMs like MoKee or Resurrection Remix OS don’t care

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 cannot connect to LG FH2 speaker since there’s a Bluetooth profile incompatibility

I have found that my LG FH2 speaker uses the A2DP profile protocol: http://gscs-b2c.lge.com/downloadFile?fileId=gQHBfK7s0ZXFVKL7CatPeA

…whereas my Android phone is unable to get connected to it, since it has a different profile AVRCP: https://source.android.com/devices/bluetooth/services

Please note I am not trying to make my phone an audio sink, only audio gateway is totally fine for me.

¿How can I install, push, hack, or sideload via ADB such an A2DP Bluetooth profile so I can connect my mobile to my speaker?

Edit: it’s a Redmi Note 5 global version (model M1803E7SH Latin America)

Redmi 3 stuck on bootloop with no recovery mode access

I have a Redmi 3 MIUI7 that I recently flashed with MIUI9 using TWRP. Right after flashing, I tried to boot it but it stuck on a bootloop. Since I haven’t booted into the ROM and can’t do so because of the bootloop, I have no access to enable USB Debugging AND TWRP recovery mode. No USB Debugging means the device will show as unauthorized when using adb devices, though I can Vol. Down+Power to get into Fastboot. I have flashed several ROMs before flashing to MIUI9 (Resurrect Remix and LineageOS, both Android Oreo and had root access).

I just need way to boot into TWRP recovery mode to a) flash my way out of the loop b) restore a backup.

Last 2 updates of Xiaomi Redmi 6 broke the SD card, solutions?

A lot of people including me that own a Xiaomi RedMi 6 lost data on SDs used in this phone. Seems this happened last 2 or 3 updates – SD cards went to RAW and even some of them cannot be successfully read. Bye-bye pictures or everything stored during normal usage and not backed-up/synced …

Current version of the device:

Model number: Redmi 6

Android version: 8.1.O11019

Android security patch level: 2019-03-01

Model name: M1804C3DG

Baseband version: MOLY.R12A.R2.MP.V24.32.P122

Kernel version: 4.9.77+

Is there an official anwser from Xiaomi how to fix this?

I’m using Redmi 6. All apps are working fine on first space but some are crashing on second space

Reddit, Facebook, Instagram and many other apps are crashing when trying to login with this weird error message:

java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to stop activity {com.instagram.android/com.instagram.nux.activity.SignedOutFragmentActivi ty}: java.lang.SecurityException: get application info: Neither user 1210203 nor current process has android.permission.INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS. at android.app.ActivityThread.performDestroyActivity( ActivityThread.java:4436) at android.app.ActivityThread.handleDestroyActivity(A ctivityThread.java:4492) at android.app.ActivityThread.-wrap5(Unknown Source:0) at android.app.ActivityThread$ H.handleMessage(Activit yThread.java:1699) at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:10 6) at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:176) at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.jav a:6656) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Native Method) at com.android.internal.os.RuntimeInit$ MethodAndArgsC aller.run(RuntimeInit.java:547) at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit .java:873) Caused by: java.lang.SecurityException: get application info: Neither user 1210203 nor current process has android.permission.INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS. at android.os.Parcel.readException(Parcel.java:2013) at android.os.Parcel.readException(Parcel.java:1959) at android.view.autofill.IAutoFillManager$ Stub$ Proxy. finishSession(IAutoFillManager.java:548) at android.view.autofill.AutofillManager.finishSessio nLocked(AutofillManager.java:1032) at android.view.autofill.AutofillManager.commit(Autof illManager.java:866) at android.app.Activity.onStop(Activity.java:1912) at androidx.fragment.app.FragmentActivity.onStop(:327 624) at android.app.Instrumentation.callActivityOnStop(Ins trumentation.java:1375) at android.app.Activity.performStop(Activity.java:725 6) at android.app.ActivityThread.performDestroyActivity( ActivityThread.java:4431) … 9 more

When I reopen the apps I found myself logged in but why do they crash at first attempt? Has my device been hacked?

PS: Second space is same as multi user in Xiaomi devices.
