Does the re-use of HTML email newsletter content for blog posts have SEO (or other) repercusions?

I am (in parallel) building both a newsletter subscriber list (using Mailchimp) and also a blog website (using WordPress). I want to be as efficient as possible with the use of my content / copy. I would like to send out newsletters to subscribers first and then re-use the content for time delayed blog postings. Using a WordPress plugin such as ‘postie’ I can easily send an email directly to my website that is then entered into my blog post stream automatically. If I prepare the styling of my email appropriately in Mailchimp, the posting should look like native content on my website.

However, my current understanding is that robust HTML emails tend to use A LOT of tables to force the email client to render the email correctly. Also, they tend to use A LOT of inline CSS and the like. If I simply insert this into my blog stream the website HTML is going to get ‘ugly’ and likely slow to load.

But, does this actually matter? Will webcrawlers & search engines have a tantrum?

If I need to avoid this scenario, should I search for a solution (hopefully not manual re-coding) that creates two versions of the HTML: one for newsletter use; one for blog stream insertion?

I really want to avoid the manual effort of having to create two versions of the HTML content from scratch each time.

Many thanks in advance for any thoughts, advice and suggestions you can offer.

Reuse Firebase Token for other authentication purporses

I’m building an app where the users should have restricted access to certain api-services. I use gRPC as API. Right now I’m asking the user’s mobile number, send him an SMS with a code which he has to verify. If it’s the same, the backend generates an UUID which will be sent to the user and safed in a local database on the mobile phone. The user is then able to authenticate itself on the backend by just sending the UUID.

While I’m in that process I noticed that the Firebase Token also never changes so I have two unique id’s which are saved in the database.

Is it safe to skip the generation of an extra UUID and verify the user by it’s Firebase Token/UID, only? The client could send the verification code with the Firebase Token and if the Firebase Token is correct, the backend will save this token to the database. The client can then authorize itself with that token. Or do I miss a point here?

How to store passwords and be able to reuse them later

Lets assume the following scenario

I am writing an application where you can log in and then provide login details to another system ie your email account, FTP account etc
The application then reuses those login details later when it tries to log into those services to perform a certain task. Those tasks are performed in the background via a cron script and the user does not want to have to log in every time to provide the login details to those services.
This means I need to store the…

Designing custom page template and reuse across sites

In my SharePoint online tenant, I have several communication sites, all of them are associated to a Hub site. I am designing a solution which should provide consistent layout for news pages, pages should also include custom properties and web parts.

For this I have created custom content type in content type hub, all news pages will use this content type. In one of the site I have included this content type in Pages library and designed a page by including custom page properties and webparts. Then I saved this page as template. I am able to create news posts using this template in this particular site.

But now I want to reuse this same page template in all other sites as well. There is no download and upload option in Pages library. Somehow I downloaded page template by PowerShell, but when I try to upload it in anther site by drag and drop, its not working.

Any thoughts how this can be achieved? How to provide consistent custom layout for news pages across modern sites?

Clean architecture – How do I deal with use case reuse?

Trying to apply Uncle Bob’s clean architecture to an application I’m maintaining and I’m having difficulties with use cases and duplication/reuse. It’s my understanding that usecases should be self contained and that duplication is to be expected but this does not seem to make sense with what I’m dealing with. I feel there are multiple use cases that should end up using other use cases.

Here is a very simplified example of 4 use cases that exist separately but that are also dependent on each other in the following way.

BulkSendUsersToUnit SendUserToUnit AddUserToMandatoryGroups AddUserToGroup

Each of them have validation, repository calls and conditions that always apply. Basically if I was doing this with services they would simply be methods that I would call from where I need them.

Can I/should I inject use cases in other use cases using DI?

What am I missing here?

Reuse of existing uiComponent with different dataSource

I utilize the insertListing uiComponent based on a mandatory listing (grid) component in my own component. I want to reuse the listing for the insertListing but need to change it’s dataSource to keep the grids data (selectionsProvider) seperatly. There seems no way to make use of the main component’s namespaces in that case, since the namespace is set in insertListing‘s XML.

    <insertListing name="customer_address_listing" component="Magento_Customer/js/form/components/insert-listing"> <settings> ... <externalProvider>customer_address_listing.customer_address_listing_data_source</externalProvider> <selectionsProvider>customer_address_listing.customer_address_listing.customer_address_listing_columns.ids</selectionsProvider> <ns>customer_address_listing</ns> ... </imports> </settings> </insertListing>

You can see that it’s possible to configure externalProvider (data_source) or selectionsProvider (ids). But this has to be configured in the listings XML file

        <item name="provider" xsi:type="string">customer_address_listing.customer_address_listing_data_source</item>

I want to use another dataSource without the need to create a whole new component for it.

Of course I already tried to add the dataSource via my module’s etc/di.xml. But this didn’t work.

Is there a way to achive this or am I on the completely wrong track?

How can a reuse an encrypted SSD?

I bought a laptop on ebay that had a broken screen, didn’t appear to have ever been opened before, and upon opening it, I found an SSD inside that I would like to format and use.

Gparted (and other programs including mkusb, and dd) report “Input/output error during read on /dev/sda”. If I click to ignore these about ten times, then I can see it in the drives selection pop down selection box as totally unallocated. If I try to make a partition on the device, it says no partition table, create a partition table. If I do that, it hangs. I cannot write the first MB as suggested in this post (r/w errors) either with mkusb or dd.

The drive is an Intel opal SSD with a PSID on the label, so I thought it was a self-encrypting-drive (SED), but using sedutil-cli –scan, the drive is reported as not SED. When I try and boot up on the drive, it comes up with a lock and harddrive symbol and you can type a password. It gives you three tries, and then a hand with a slash/circle through it pops up and you have to shutdown and try again. It won’t let you go to BIOS, or boot on another drive when it is connected to the SATA bus before booting. The way I got the sedutil-cli to work was to make a USB drive from an image from Drive Trust Alliance, then boot from it and put the Intel SSD in a USB enclosure, and connect it after booting from the image on a flash drive.

If I use the disk utility to check the SMART status, everything is fine. I am certain this drive is encrypted, but I haven’t been able to discover even what encryption it is, or any way to format it for reuse.

Can anyone give me any hints? It seems such a waste to send this drive to the landfill, and buy a new one, just because I can’t figure this out!

Thanks!
