## Bob has to find Alices hidden gold by questioning yes/no questions

I have this

Alice has n places to hide the gold v1,…,vn

Bob knows the probability of each place

Now Bob has to ask Alice YES/NO Questions to find the gold.

I have done it this way:

We order the placec by probability highest to lowest.

Now divide them by 2 so we have 2 sets

We ask whether it is in the high probability set or not

Now we divide by 2 again and ask if it is the highest one and so on

My prof told me that we have to get that he questions on average H(V) questions

But with this I am close with 2.576 to H(V)=2.47 but it’s not H(V) any better ways?

H(V) is the Entropy.

## Add a HTML Yes/No field to SharePoint Online Yes/No column via JavaScript/jQuery

I am building a Custom html form and saving all the fields to a SharePoint Online list. I figured out adding text boxes and choice drop downs via JS/jQuery like,

var xxxxxxxx = \$ (“#xxxxxxxx”).val(); var yyyyyyyy = \$ (“#yyyyyy”).find(“option:selected”).text();

but can’t figure out how to add HTML Checkbox (Yes/No) to a SharePoint Yes/No column.

Thanks

## Update Yes/No field if Date is today

I am trying to create an automated SLA field

I have a “Date Requested” Field and an “Outside of SLA” field.

Date Requested is formatted as a Date, Outside of SLA is formatted as a Yes/NO / True/False field.

I am trying to automatically update the “Outside of SLA” field if the “Date Requested” is later than “Today”

I understand it will have something to do with the IsToday() field but im not sure if the logic i am trying to apply will work within PowerApps/Sharepoint.

Is this at all possible? I feel like i am treating this too much like Excel but am pretty new to this. Apologies

## Should I use Yes/No or Ok/Cancel on my message box?

Semantically, the Yes/No buttons are roughly equivalent to the Ok/Cancel buttons, but in general what would you recommend to use? Should I always use Yes/No or always use Ok/Cancel? Or does it depend on the case?

## How to save the value of a Yes/No Checkbox via Sharepoint 2016 REST API onPrem?

How do you save checked/unchecked for sharepoint 2016 on-prem via the REST api? I have a couple input text boxes saving text, but I’m can’t save yes/no for cbAttending, I can’t seem to get the value when it’s checked. Appreciate any pointers.

## Microsoft Flow Record Form responses in SharePoint Yes/No

This is my first time on StackExchange, and I haven’t found the answer to my question in the forum…

I have built a Form in order to get some data recorded into a SharePoint list using Flow. I would like to fill a SharePoint item with the format type Yes/No. In Flow, I cannot even select a field from the Form I made (I setup some other SharePoint items and it worked like a charm).

Can you please let me know how to format the question in Form, and how to setup my Flow?

## How to set up a Yes/No field to select Yes for every 1 in 10 requests

I use SharePoint lists to raise requests for people to go through background checks, one in every 10 of these people undergoing these checks are required to have a criminal check. I have a CRC Required collumn which has Yes/No as a boolean, I haven’t included this field on the new joiner list (form) as I don’t want people to select this.

When the new joiner form is submitted i have created another list as a central database, in which the columns are linked using a workflow – how can i set this up so every 1 in 10 requests raised select Yes for CRC in the central database.

I am quite new to sharepoint as u can probably tell!

## Making a yes/no column show an icon rather than text

I’d like to have a Yes/No column that rather than showing the usual text (“Yes”/”No”), shows an icon – say green or red.

I know I can create another column (a calculated one) with a formula that depends on the value the value of the first column, something along these lines

``="<center>" & IF([Status]="Yes";"<img src='/_layouts/images/yes.gif' border='0'/>"; ELSEIF([Status]="No";"<img src='/_layouts/images/no.GIF' border='0'/>"; ``

But this solution effectively requires two columns: one for the users to update (the yes/no column), and another that shows the related icon. Is there a way to directly show the icons in the yes/no column?
