Do non-PostgreSQL database softwares use roughly the same “structure” for communicating with them?

Basically, I have developed a PostgreSQL-based application which "in theory" could have its database software swapped out, but probably would cause a million headaches if I actually attempted to. I’m trying to determine if the other SQL database softwares (I frankly don’t care about non-SQL ones in the least, because they seem too different for me to bother with them in this life) have the following concepts:

  1. "hostname"
  2. "port"
  3. "username"
  4. "password"
  5. "handle database" (such as "postgres", which must be used to connect when there is no other database or when certain operations are to be done to the actual database)
  6. "database name"

I guess I’m fairy sure already about all the points except for the 5th. The concept of a "handle database" seems like it might be PG-only. If such is the case, I’m not sure how I should handle that, but I’m awaiting your answers before I make a decision.

I have a good mind to just forget about ever supporting other database softwares, but the way my system is structured basically forces me to at least try to "genericize" the communication with the database with functions called "database_" rather than "PostgreSQL_". (Even when the queries sent to these functions would only work on PG…)

What Other Softwares or Tools I Need to Run GSA Search Engine Ranker Easily?

Hi everyone! This is my first time in this forum and unfortunately I’ve got questions about GSA Search Engine Ranker. So, I’ve read that it can helps me to automate my work or project in term of link building. But later I know, using GSA SER will also need the other softwares an tools, for example the one to bypass repatcha, etc. So, since I am new to this software, what else I need to buy so I will be possible to provide my budget and help me building links without doing many things that will take more of my time?

At the moment while I am asking this, I have not been using the GSA SER that I’ve installed in my laptop since I have no idea how to start my link building project. I have seen some tutorials but I am ended up confusing. So, before I am getting any further about that, I hope there will be someone or two of you will help me to know which tools I will need to buy so I can prepare my money for them. I really need a help in this and I hope will get answers.

Before, since my goal is to build backlinks that can be indexed for my blog, I have listed some of the softwares and tools from this site which are:

  1. GSA Search Engine Ranker
  2. GSA Auto Website Submitter
  3. GSA Captcha Breaker
  4. GSA SEO Indexer
  5. Backlink’s Indexing Services

Are the above tools and softwares enough?

How to configure a VM to protect all my hardware fingerprint from guest OS and softwares?

This question was originally Does Firefox in VM have a common enough fingerprint so I don’t need tor browser? in Tor community.

I want to know about what a web browser’s fingerprint like in a VM, if VM runs a common OS and have default system settings. Can VM be configured to not have any of host machine’s fingerprint?

(Here I just want to ask about fingerprint, ignoring IP addresses, web scripts and tracking cookies)

Here the VM software we discuss would better be FOSS, like Virtualbox or qemu.

That question could be on not just web browser, but also other kind of softwares.

What audit process do the softwares have that manage lethal weapon equipped robots?

I am in IT and I know: ALL the software in the world are horribly insecure. History proves it (of course prove me wrong!).

So, if we are giving ex.: drones lethal weapons, like bombs, what operating system, what applications, what protocols (to communicate, give orders) are used?

The Q: what audits were done on these elements? Are there any standards?

Did thex ex.: wrote a fully new OS (with tons of secbugs) or took a hardened OpenBSD (but that is just the OS and still could have secbugs)?

Accent characters on ubuntu 18.04 works in some softwares but not in others

A have recently installed a Ubuntu 18.04 and I use i3wm. My keyboard layout is br abnt2 and it is already configured but I am not been able to use some accented letters in some softwares (textboxes in general) but in others, everything is working fine. For example, in google chrome, I am able to type accents (ã, á, à, â, etc) but in telegram, KeePassXC, Keepass2, I am not been able to type those accent. This doesn’t used to happen in my old ubuntu 16.04 installation. And it is kind of annoying to not been able to simply type an accent the right way.

Do someone knows what is happening? It seems not to be a general ubuntu keyboard configuration issue but something more specific. Maybe a GTK issue? Do someone have a clue to point me in the right direction in order to solve this problem?
